Who am I?
First things first, who is Toria aka ‘me’ and why would you be interested in reading a blog about me?
Well, I am a 39 year old married woman who design and makes jewellery and crochet pieces. This is not the be all and end all of it. I came to jewellery making only a few years ago after falling ill with meningitis which completely changed my life. Prior to this I can’t say I was the healthiest individual on the planet and I have always had some physical health issues but had been able to manage these relatively well.
I was born with Marfans Syndrome which has always caused me great amounts of pain in my back, hips and shoulders but this was manageable and I lead a relatively active life.
I love life and whilst I am not able to do everything that I would like to do because of my disabilities I try and share my passion and creativity with everyone around me. I like to think, hee hee, I am able to inspire people to grasp everything they do with both hands and make the most of everything.
I’m a firm believer that you can do anything you want in life in some way or another and try to live out this philosophy myself. I use mindfulness and meditation to make the best of the hand I’ve been dealt and hope to pass on some of what I have learnt throughout this blog. Whilst I don’t always have a smile on my face and I do have my dark days, I do try my best to keep positive.
